VibeCheck ("we", "us") is built by Speed of Now Productions. This policy explains what information we collect when you use VibeCheck, how we use it, and the choices you have.
If you play as a guest: nothing leaves your device. Your progress, favorites, and history are stored only in local browser/app storage and are never sent to our servers.
If you create an account: we collect the email address and password you provide (passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text), or, if you sign in with Google, the name, email address, and profile photo Google shares with us. We also store the display name and avatar you choose.
Gameplay data: for signed-in users, we store the questions you've answered, favorites, session history, compatibility scores, and streak data so your progress syncs across devices.
Usage analytics: we use PostHog to record product-usage events (e.g. which screens are viewed, which features are used) to understand how VibeCheck is used and to improve it. If you're signed in, these events are associated with your account (email and display name) so we can track things like guest-to-signup conversion; guests are tracked anonymously. Analytics never include the content of your answers.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your data for third-party advertising.
We use the following service providers to run VibeCheck. Each processes data only to provide their service to us:
Account data is stored in Supabase (PostgreSQL) with Row Level Security enabled, so a user can only read or write their own data. Passwords are hashed by Supabase Auth and are never visible to us in plain text.
You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings → Delete Account inside the app. This immediately removes your profile, favorites, session history, and compatibility data from our systems. Guest data can be cleared by clearing your browser or app storage.
VibeCheck is intended for users aged 17 and older and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 17.
We may update this policy as VibeCheck evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
